THE ART OF SITTING SOFT

My Mom would say “Let’s go sit soft.”  She would announce this after a meal and everyone was lingering around the table. It was time to get comfortable. I kind of love this. But where did this come from, I never heard anyone use this phrase other than my mom. So I did some research. Yep, I googled it! Haha!

PRAISE FOR COBANI BLEU

Etsy Customer, Lisa had this to say:
Over the top pleased with the quality and attention to detail. The photos were excellent but seeing the chair in person was even better than expected. One word to describe it “Magnificent”. Nancy, was such a pleasure to work with responds quickly to questions. One of my favorite shops cannot wait to find more hidden treasures.

And Then This…
This is my second purchase, just could not resist buying another chair. The furniture refinishing is over the top the color is perfect goes so well with the two fabrics. Nancy is a real professional when it comes to quality and detail. The photos were excellent but seeing the chair in person was even better than expected.

What else would you call a chair that is brimming with bright cheerful colors and was designed for a beautiful soul named Sunny?  Obviously this chair named itself! I mean when the design starts with a fresh and happy chenille bedspread and a quirky Kantha quilt how can you not end up with a sunny disposition.  So here is where the story started. A sweet woman reached out to me to inquire about having her grandmother’s chair recovered. She had no idea what design direction to take. Working from home which includes many zoom calls, she felt the time was right…

The Easiest Zipper

What’s the hardest part of sewing a cushion? It’s those dang zippers! I hear this so often. It seems zippers are intimidating! Now I was never really afraid of zippers, but I did struggle to get them sewn nice and neatly. No matter how I tried, My zipper flaps would be messy and crooked! That is until I learned what I call the double folded zipper panel. Now when I first read the instructions for this zipper panel, I thought no way is that going to work. And I immediately sat down to sew one following the instructions intent on…

The Red Vanity Stool

What is it about the color red that is so compelling? Red evokes so many emotions. The color of blood and fire, it can mean danger, anger and power. It is also the color of passion, romance and love. Many women have adopted it as their own power color. Red was my mom’s favorite color. I often say she loved red like I love blue. So I have a soft spot for this glorious hue.  How fortunate was I that my first commissioned piece of furniture was for a vanity stool. My only instructions were red and girly!  Oh what…
